Today we had prayer room time from 9 till noon. It was some great time with the Lord. We did corporate intercession for the Jews in Israel, and for their salvation.
I read Song of Songs from the perspective of Jesus and His bride. It gave me a whole new revelation of His love for me. It is beautiful and touches the heart, everyone needs to have this revelation of His love for them.
Today at 1 we had a special guest, a man who is part of Desert Stream ministries came and talked with our group. It was very powerful, his focus was on the cross. The cross for our daily lives. He talked about our need to look to Christ and Christ alone to name us. To define us. To tell us who we are. We have believed for too long lies, past things we've done, sins we have done, or sins of others have weighed us down, and we continue to live out of that place of brokeness and pain. From there we can't experience the redeemed and forgiven and free people that we truly are. We allow the past to name us instead of Christ.
He used the illustration of an artist having a painting in a muesuem. And someone comes in and throws black paint all over it and destroys it. Only the original artist can restore and repair the piece of art to his original vision he had for the painting. We are like the peice of artwork, God is the artist who has a vision for who we are. Only he can restore us to His original intention.
As we go to the cross we say, these are the places I'm far short of bearing Christ's image. And we claim what Christ says about us, and leave behind the old tainted sin. When we go to the cross, we don't just lay things down, we also take something(s) with us= we take what Christ has to say to us, and we find out it's much better! We leave free, and restored.
Do you know your most authentic self? Who are you really? Bearing the image of God is the most authentic part of our humanity.
